Hello world! Welcome to Mom Factually

Welcome to Mom Factually!  I’m thrilled that you’re here!

This blog is an exciting new space for me and I can’t wait to share it with you!

It’s a natural outgrowth of my writing. I started with a private blog to update family and friends about my daughter.  From there I moved on to blogging loved  at Tween Us on ChicagoNow, where I’ve been for more than two years. While I’ll still be writing and sharing posts there twice a week, my kiddo won’t always be a tween and it’s time to broaden the horizons a bit.

As my daughter gets older, I’m realizing that more and more of what I would share about her are more her stories, and I don’t want to overshare those or threaten her privacy. I’ve also realized that I have a lot of my own stories that I’d love to tell and this a space for doing so.

Mom Factually was born out of an interest to talk about life in a broader context, both as a parent and beyond.

I’ve always loved facts and info, be it useful or not, and I think that the blogosphere could use some additional data and information. I love sharing what I’m Googling and the random info I’ve found about a wide variety of subjects.

I’m also channeling my inner Julie Andrews and wanting to share my favorite things and have a chance to do give aways and such so that you can experience them, too. I also love talking about my favorite place, Disney World, and while there’s space on the blog for doing so, this blog will be about much more than just Mickey and friends.I also do freelance writing for regional publications like Make It Better magazine and Chicago Parent and I look forward to sharing some of that work with you here.It would absolutely make my day if you would please like Mom Factually on Facebook.
