See the adorable trailer for Penguins by Disneynature (and meet my spirit animal)

Happy Earth Day! In honor of the occassion, Disneynature just released the very first trailer for its film, Penguins, which will waddle into theaters next year on Earth Day 2019. The trailer is both hilarious and heartwarming, and you can see all the penguin awesomeness here:

I mean, really, how can you not be excited to meet Steve?!?!?  It’s possible my family members have alternated turns announcing “Steve!” every few moments since we first watched this. “A gentleman who stands out from the crowd” – ha!

I think Steve really may just be my spirit animal. I mean, we’re both a little clumsy. We both enjoy walks on the beach. And it seems that we both find parenthood is a bit overwhelming.

Here’s how the good folks at the studio are describing this movie:

Disneynature’s all-new feature film PENGUINS is a coming-of-age story about an Adélie penguin named Steve who joins millions of fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family. None of it comes easily for him, especially considering he’s targeted by everything from killer whales to leopard seals, who unapologetically threaten his happily ever after. From the filmmaking team behind BEARS and CHIMPANZEE, Disneynature’s PENGUINS opens in theaters nationwide in time for Earth Day 2019.

Getting to pet a penguin at the Shedd Aquarium last year with my daughter was a highlight of 2017 for me, and I’m excited that we can continue to share our love of them with this movie.

If you need us next Earth Day, we’ll be in a theater meeting Steve and Adélie and all their snazzy penguin buddies!
