Princesses, storm troopers and Snapchat: See the funny new trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet

Parenting a teen girl means that I’m constantly navigating issues like female empowerment and Snapchat and how best to use the internet, while also preaching the importance of not taking one’s self too seriously. That’s all pretty expected in this day and age.

What I didn’t expected, however, was how all those come together in the new trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.

Check it out:

How awesome is the part with the princesses?

I love when Disney turns its sense of humor inward and pokes fun at itself. I cracked up when Vanellope asked the princesses, “Should I call the police?” It’s a great conversation starter to use with your tweens and teens.

And the search bar autofill part was very funny.

It will be interesting to see how this sequel to Wreck-It Ralph develops and how Ralph actually breaks the internet. Here’s the official synopsis from Disney:

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”
